WHAT IS CLOUDCOVER?
Overview
Cloudcover is designed to be a fast acting response to a sudden medical emergency resulting in rapid blood loss or any other event of uncontrollable bleeding. It can be used as a replacement treatment to any wounds that require a tourniquet, wound-packing, or a constant application of pressure.
How Cloudcover Works
Cloudcover is a foam-like substance that is meant to be sprayed within a deep laceration, cut, or any other wound. As soon as it is sprayed, the foam will start expanding to effectively wound-pack the injury. After a couple of moments, the foam will begin to solidify into a fiber cloth like texture that will absorb further blood. The pressure of the blood rushing out of the cut will push on the hardened foam and effectively keep pressure on itself and reduce blood loss. Additionally, the foam contains fibrin and platelets which get released into the surrounding blood vessels of the injury and help create blood clots and stop future bleeding.
How Cloudcover Can be Utilized in the Healthcare Field
Our goal is to be able to provide Cloudcover to a very large market ranging from over the counter, in department stores, pharmacies, hospitals, and even the military at a reasonable price so that it is easily accessible to everyone. This would help civilians in homes and in public spaces as they would be able to treat serious injuries in a timely manner without having to know any medical knowledge. In addition, the medical field can benefit from this greatly as those on the field- such as paramedics- have a quick response tool to serious injuries. Casualties within the military will able be greatly reduced as Cloudcover gives the critical life-saving seconds that hundreds of thousands need.
Future Innovations
As we strengthen and perfect our formula, we hope to be able to handle a wider variety of injuries other than just wounds and blood loss. We plan on making a special formula that would be aimed at making a hard cast that would support broken bones. Another plan we have is making a product specifically for burns. Our purpose of saving lives will remain as our main goal for the future.
