An Introduction to Me

Monsour Guardian

My name is Monsour Guardian. I am currently a senior in high school in which I major in Nursing Assistant. My career goal is to become a Nurse Practitioner. After graduating from high school, I hope to enter into college to pursue a bachelor's degree. I come from a family of nurses with humble beginnings rooted within our home of the Philippines. My parents, who are the first within my whole lineage to escape poverty by working as CNAs overseas. They allowed me to be able to pursue my dreams in a new world and one of my dreams is to be able to return all of their hard work back to them and show them that all of it was worth it.

My Capstone Proposal

The question that was I was faced with at the beginning of the year was " How can I use my future career to impact the world around me?" I took this question and thought to myself, "what would be something that can be made that would improve the entirety of the healthcare field?" I came up with my own original product which I named "Cloudcover." Cloudcover is a sprayable foam that is meant to be sprayed within a wound that slows the rate of major blood loss. My goal in making this was to create a form of emergency response treatment that is widely accessible to anyone, able to be used by those without any medical knowledge, and a way to solve an already very common problem of blood loss in the medical field. My inspiration for my product is that all over the world, there are hundreds of thousands of people dying from injuries that could have been treated if there had been enough time or if there were medical professionals present; be it in one's home, in a hospital, or on the military battlefield. My product aims to solve this by extending a person's time to be treated by slowing the bleeding without any first aid knowledge or immediate help from a professional.
